Jeweled Galloper - American

One of four created with backgrounds, and each one showcasing a particular style (American, English, German, and French) of carousel horse. This horse was modelled after a horse carved by Daniel Muller.

The base contains a music box that plays "De Camptown Races".

The most interesting (and little-known) aspect about this particular piece is that it includes the sculptor's portrait...the face on the backdrop is a portrait of Ann Dezendorf! This piece was limited to a run of 9500 total.

The average price of this piece when new was $85-$125.
